Our Staff Members

The staff at Church of the Holy Cross, Episcopal has spent many years commited to Christian service. Our staff enjoys serving our community, whether in sharing our faith or just lending a helping hand. Here are a few of Church of the Holy Cross, Episcopal's staff members, starting with :

Ronald Dean  (Organist and choirmaster)
Ronald E. Dean has served in this capacity since early 1992. A native of Massachusetts, he is an alumnus of Wilbraham Academy and holds degrees from Williams College and the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He is Professor Emeritus of Music at Centenary College in Shreveport, where he taught courses in music theory and music history for forty-two years and was College Organist for ten years. During this time he was awarded the Outstanding Teacher citation. Prior to coming to Shreveport, he was instructor of advanced music theory and organ at the University of Texas, Austin. From time to time, he has served on the Liturgical and Music Commission for the Episcopal Diocese of Western Louisiana.

Dianne has been at Holy Cross since September 2004. Prior to coming to Holy Cross she worked at Smith Barney for approximately 16 years where she last held the position of Branch Administrator. She attended Louisiana (Baptist) College in Pineville where she majored in education and secretarial science. Afterwards she was the secretary to the Assistant Administrator at Baptist Hospital in Alexandria, LA. She married and moved to Shreveport, where she taught school for a short time prior to her son's birth. Since that time she has been secretary for Shreve City Baptist Church and Superior Supply Company. She has been married to her husband, Scott, for 38 years. Her greatest accomplishments are her two children, Jeff and Jennifer. Jennifer is married with one daughter, Katelyn and a son is expected in April.

Charles Alford  (Sexton)
Charles Alford is currently serving as Sexton at Holy Cross, in which capacity he is responsible for maintaining the physical plant, and opening and closing the buildings as necessary. Charles works cheerfully to assure that the church "puts its best foot forward" and has been publically praised by Bishop MacPherson for tremendously improving our "curb appearance."
